Register as a member: Voluntary

If you are self‑employed, you can register as a voluntary member by:

• Visiting any NSSF Office closest to you with your National ID, Alien Card or Passport and a photocopy.
• We will capture your details and register you as a voluntary member.
• Pay a minimum initial contribution of KES 200 to activate your membership; this will appear on your statement as your first contribution.
• You will be issued with an NSSF membership card.

*If you lose your NSSF card, a replacement fee of KES 200 will be charged.

You can top up your voluntary contributions  by dialing the USSD *222# and completing payment via M‑PESA using the steps below.
